| In TruSentry, Akonni Biosystems has partnered with Tecan to developed a rapid, high-throughput screening system that can rapidly extract DNA and/or RNA directly from clinical samples and then automatically subject these samples to testing for multiple diseases (e.g., as tuberculosis, HIV, hepatitis, influenza, SARS, etc.) at the same time on a low-density microarray. Applications include testing mass populations of pilgrims during periods of religious homage; screening temporary workers and immigrants as part of their visa application; testing for viral, bacterial and fungal contaminants at critical stages of product manufacturing; and getting an upper hand on disease epidemiology during mass outbreaks. |  |

| Akonni TruCycler Satellite Thermal Cyclers are high performance bench-top thermal cycler systems with a capacity for 96 x 0.2ml tubes or 4 TruArray slides. Units are driven by the latest peltier based thermal engine and can be controlled by a PC via a simple USB. A mini network of up to 15 thermal cyclers can be run simultaneously. To achieve maximum TruArray test throughput, up to 4 TruCycler Satellite units can be connected to each TruDx 1000 instrument. |  |
