TruArray HE is a qualitative test for the rapid detection of herpes simplex virus 1 (HSV-1), herpes simplex virus 2 (HSV-2), and varicella zoster virus (VZV) in cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) from individuals with signs and symptoms of viral meningitis and/or encephalitis. As an adjunct to other laboratory test results and clinical information, TruArray HE can aid in the laboratory diagnosis of a viral infection in individuals with a suspicion of meningitis, encephalitis or meningoencephalitis. The test is intended for use in reference laboratories, hospital laboratories, or commercial contract laboratories which are CLIA-certified for the performance of high-complexity testing.
