An Array of Diagnostic Information at Your Fingertips

Solution

Akonni’s approach enables rapid and highly affordable testing for infectious and other human diseases on a microscopic gel-drop array molecular diagnostics (MDx) testing platform, called TruArray®. Akonni TruArray's are available for an expanded selection of applications, including:

  • Nucleic acid testing applications
    - Hybridization array
    - In-situ (on-chip) amplification array
    - Primer extension array
    - Allele specific extension array
  • Antibody immobilization for multiplexed immunoassays
  • Peptide immobilization for mass spectroscopy studies
  • Small molecule or enzymatic immobilization for drug discovery
  • Cell or cell lysate immobilization for drug discovery or cellular studies

The TruArray system leverages a low cost instrument (i.e., the TruDx instrument line) with consumable tests depending on clinical need. The method incorporates standard operating procedures and combines in an end-to-end workflow multiple steps that are currently performed manually. In particular for multiplexed nucleic acid and immunoassay-based testing methods, the TruDiagnosis® system performs dozens of individual tests simultaneously in a process known as “multiplexing”. Users benefit as they are able to accurately test for multiple disease states from a single patient sample (e.g., blood, urine, saliva,) and receive results in two hours or less. The technique is particularly powerful in that it can be configured to perform DNA, RNA or antibody based testing using the same instrument. Akonni offers a complete end-to-end approach to clinical diagnostics by providing sample preparation, clinical chemistry procedures, reading, and data interpretation in a single platform.

At the heart of Akonni's TruDiagnosis solution is the TruArray technology which rapidly screens a sample for hundreds of disease markers at one time, all within a microchip the size of your fingernail.
